I have an absurd amount of primers that sometimes I fear I will never get through them all…it is a reoccurring nightmare that frequents my dreams too often. But in all seriousness, I never used to be one for primer…until my skin took a horrible turn, became all splotchy and dull and dry AF. I thought I would share three primers I currently love to use.
MAC Strobe Cream (the original version): A staple that I have had in my collection for a couple years now…actually I should probably really throw it out but hey its practically empty so a few more applications surely won’t hurt? I love this as it gives such a glow to the face and hydrates the skin as well. It is the perfect colour for my pale ass and melts into the skin beautifully. MAC have just released new versions of the Strobe creams so I am very keen to test them out once this runs out.
Becca Backlight Priming Filter: A new edition to my collection, I bought this baby off Ebony @Theblackandwhiteguide (I mention her in literally every second post it feels like hehe) and have been using it ever since. I used a sample of this a while back and fell in love and immediately added it to my wish list! It is similar to the strobe cream, however the colour is completely different. It is a golden tone which surprisingly doesn’t lean on the warm side when it melts into the skin.It is hard to see the difference between the two as they work very similarly but I will have to do a further investigation before deciding which to repurchase.
Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (Mini size): I bought this back in August/September when I did a huge AF hall at Sephora & Mecca, and I still have heaps left. I do really like this for smoothing my face if I have a special event and it is also oil-free which helps my incredibly oily nose.
I will always be on the hunt for new primers as I have yet to find the PERFECT one for my skin. I like luminosity but I also like my makeup to stay on especially around my nose and cheeks which seem to slide off first. What primers do you suggest for me to test out?
